Chapter 2 - Battle to Reclaim Jamaa

DAWN OF THE ALPHAS

Times were desperate. Remembering how much they accomplished when they worked together, the six remaining species gathered their Heartstones, and returned to the Lost Temple of Zios. Tigers, wolves, monkeys, pandas, koalas, and bunnies joined together for a last stand against the Phantoms. However, Mira and Zios saw that it would not be enough.

The Guardian Spirits began to search for animals who could be capable of leading their species in battle. They found six extraordinary animals that stood out among the others of Jamaa:

  • Liza - The curious panda

  • Cosmo - The botanist koala

  • Greely - The mysterious wolf

  • Graham - The inventive monkey

  • Sir Gilbert - The noble tiger

  • Peck - The creative bunny

Mira and Zios’ faith was well placed. While they were all very different from each other,  the animals all had strong characters and respect for the natural world.

To aid in the battle, Mira and Zios gave each of the six animals an Alpha Stone. These jewels took the abilities of their owners and combined them with the natural powers of Jamaa. Now they were no longer just a group of six animals. They were the Alphas, heroes chosen by the Guardian Spirits to save Jamaa at its darkest hour!

The Alphas made a plan that utilized each one’s unique abilities to defeat the Phantoms. Then they joined the rest of the animals; who were inspired and filled with returned bravery after seeing the magnificent Alphas. Together, they stormed into battle!

And that battle was legendary. The animals of Jamaa were working together once more to defend their homeland. Courageous and brave animals fought alongside their Alphas for themselves, their friends, and the beauty of Jamaa. And they were winning! As they marched, the animals were able to retake their land from the corruption.

However, it was not a war without casualties. As the Phantoms retreated into their dark portals, they managed to overtake Zios, and took him with them to the other side. Mira dove into the darkness after him, only for the portal to be shut behind her. Now Jamaa was without the two guardians that had overseen it for as long as anyone could remember. It was a tragic blow to the animals, but despite this, they had hope for the future. It was inspiring to see areas of Jamaa free from Phantoms once again. The animals would continue their work in Mira and Zios’ honor.

A REBUILT JAMAA

The battle had been won, but there was still work to be done. The Phantoms had left Jamaa polluted. Plants were sick with poison and trash and debris littered the world. The animals worked to rebuild their civilization. The Alphas used the cleansing magic of their Alpha Stones to heal the land. Rivers flowed with clean water once again, the trees blossomed with new leaves, and the air felt clear and fresh. Beauty was restored to the world.

The Alphas decided that they must follow the Phantoms and continue to free more of Jamaa. They began a quest to cleanse more areas that were occupied by Phantoms. In their explorations they hoped to find more Heartstones, so that they may free their species and allow them to return to Jamaa. Liza decided to stay behind to protect the newly rebuilt Jamaa and welcome the newly rescued animals. Of course, she was not alone, she had the strength and friendship of thousands of other animals at her side.

And that brings us to summer 2010, where Jammers we know today began to call Jamaa home, and make friendships and memories to last a lifetime.

What’s lost is found

(Disclaimer: This is the Archives’ interpretation of events that happened while the old canon was still being used. After 2012 the story of Jamaa and its Alphas changed to what we know today. So while this section attempts to be as accurate as possible, take it with a grain of salt!)

In winter 2010, Liza began an expedition to the snowy peak that towered over Jamaa, Mt. Shiveer. There she would discover the first of many rescued Heartstones, holding the magic of the seals. It wasn’t long before her second expedition took her west. There she found the elephant Heartstone at Appondale. After these adventures, Jammers would be safe to live and play in these lands once more.

Little would be heard of the other Alphas during this time, simply because of how busy they were. From summer 2011 to winter 2012, new animals from the faraway travels of the Alphas would return to Jamaa. Rhinos, crocodiles, penguins, and many more would migrate to their rebuilt home and live with all the other species. In September 2011, the oceans were finally clear enough that dolphins and sharks swam the seas once more. An underwater civilization began to blossom with other species joining soon after.

It wasn’t until fall 2012 that the other Alphas besides Liza would begin to return to Jamaa from their long quest. While afterwards the Alphas would still leave to go on adventures, seek out Heartstones, and protect the land, they would never again have so many be gone at once. They held contests, played games, and settled back into their new home with Jammers.

In spring 2013 Cosmo announced that he was gathering his fellow koalas for a special expedition south to travel to a new land. With Jamaa missing one of the Alphas, the Phantoms finally felt they had a good opportunity to sneak their way back into Jamaa. Darkness spread at the borders, but the residents of Jamaa were ready. A great adventure was about to begin…
