Golden Shovels and Their Prizes
Golden Shovels, What Are They?
Golden shovels are clickable artifacts that show up throughout the lands of Jamaa. Chances are, that if you play Animal Jam Play Wild on a regular day to day basis, you’ve seen at least one. When you encounter one, remember to click on it to excavate yourself some special prizes!
How do I Locate Golden Shovels?
You can find golden shovels by traveling from land to land. Most Jammers often camp the same spot for hours, but this method is very inefficient. When there is a golden shovel nearby, you’ll hear a specific jingle. You can recognize the jingle once you start playing more. This noise happens at the very start of your selected land loading in, so if you don’t hear anything other than the land’s designated music, search a different land. If you do hear the jingle, drag your cursor all over the land until you find the golden shovel. If you don’t see it, you’ll have to look for another. You can do this as many times as desired, even all day if you had the time for it!
I’ve Found a Shovel, Now What?
Finding a shovel can be very exciting. Once you’ve found a shovel, click/tap on it. It’ll bring up a mini-game where you can dig for items. You have a pretty good chance of getting a “Treasure Chest” and a very low chance of getting the rarer “Alpha Item Chests.” It could still happen, so be on the lookout for any and all golden shovels around the lands!
What Can I Get From Digging?
You can get a small variety of items from golden shovels. Some are very common, such as the “Unknown Fossil,”the “Treasure Chest,” “Crafting Crystal,” and 200 Gems. Others are less common, such as 1 sapphire. The Holy Grail of treasures being an “Alpha Chest.” Although Alpha Chests only show up in golden shovels once in a blue moon, you never know when you might get lucky, so keep digging!

A Beloved Pattern
Most Jammers use a set pattern whilst digging to reveal the potential items hiding inside! Regular Treasure Chests and rarer Alpha Chests are typically 3 squares long, so using this pattern maximizes the amount of squares you can uncover without wasting all of your clicks. Happy shovel hunting!
