Additional Characters

The Alphas are not the only important character

Zios

As one of the two guardian spirits of Jamaa, legends refer to him as the Sky Father. He takes the form of a floating gold mask. Though some speculate that may not have always been his actual appearance.

Zios can be seen as someone who values preservation, and is an avid writer. The many volumes of Jamaa’s history he’s written speak for themselves, and he kept a personal journal. He is also known for planning into the far future. Zios sealed his personal archive away so that it would only open after an eclipse. He also constructed a series of trials to test animal’s abilities, for the purpose of proving they are worthy enough to know the location of a secret city. Truly, he was a being of many talents.

Zios and Mira did not create the world of Jamaa, but was instead charged with the duty of protecting it by an unknown entity.

He was captured by the Phantom Queen during the final battle of the first Phantom invasion, and his current whereabouts are unknown.

Mira

As one of the two guardian spirits of Jamaa, legends refer to her as the Sky Mother. She takes the form of a blue heron.

Not much is known about Mira’s personality or interests, at least compared to Zios. She is characterized as motherly, caring for the animals of Jamaa as if they were her children. Perhaps as a consequence, some say Mira feels more relatable and present in Jamaa. Her statue resides in it’s cultural center, and some form of her can be seen when animals dance around the campfire in Sarepia Forest.

She attempted to save Zios from the Phantom Queen’s grasp, but in doing so got herself captured alongside Zios. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

A feather of hers was left behind before she vanished, and within it resides a great cleansing power. The Alphas chose to place it within a great shrine for safekeeping, and would later use it to restore the land destroyed by the Phantom Fortress.

Juno

An ancient hero that lived during ancient times, during the first great Phantom invasion. A mysterious arctic wolf with unexplained power, Juno is known for having used their magic to place a seal upon Balloosh. In a final attempt to keep the land and the Direwolf Heartstone safe, their seal could only be broken once the Sabertooth Heartstone was returned to Balloosh. Upon placing the seal, Juno was turned to stone and trapped within the walls of the Temple of the Ancients. From there they watch over Balloosh as it’s guardian.

Juno is an enigmatic figure. Not only is the origin of their great strength unexplained, it’s odd that a singular arctic wolf lived among the Direwolves and Sabertooths. They lived in a time where animal species were not known to trust one another. What made Juno different?
