Why is Everything Magenta?!

As of recently, magenta items have swarmed the Animal Jam servers. Here are some commonly asked questions:

  •  Why are these items so rare?

  • How did these items get into the game?

  • What's real and what's not?

Well, I'm here today to answer all your questions on magenta items!

How did these items get into the game?

To answer this question, we have to look beyond the surface.

When you're creating items on a Flash game like Animal Jam Classic, the default color of each item added into the game is, indeed, magenta. To color items, you must go in and type a certain code to get the exact color and shade you want the said item to be.

With this in mind, when sending out items to certain players, sometimes, AJHQ staff have forgotten to type in the color codes! So, the items end up being magenta.

Why are these items so rare?

To answer simply, it's because these items were not supposed to be in the game. These magenta items weren’t supposed to be, well... MAGENTA! That makes these items so difficult to obtain because there are so few in-game.

How can you get a magenta item?

This is the tricky part. Since magenta items are so uncommon, the prices can be quite high.

The cheapest, real magenta item in Animal Jam is currently the Giant Jamaaliday Bow. This item only costs 1-2 good long collars! Most magenta items are considered “priceless.” That is due to the fact there are only a few in existence! So, it is up to the Jammer who owns the item to price it.

Real and “fake” magenta items.

Yes, there are indeed “fake” magenta items. These items include:

  • Magenta festive lights

  • Rare custom top-hats

  • Rare magenta feather earrings

These items are considered “fake,” because they were meant to be in the game. You can easily find these items on Jammers trade lists around Jamaa! If you're looking for magenta items, but aren't willing to trade crazy amounts of solids (like me), these are great alternatives that look just like the real thing!
