Many people look down on pigs as mindless, senseless, lazy creatures, but that’s far from the truth. Pigs are actually highly intelligent animals. Research found that pigs are smarter than a 3-year-old human child! Pigs are also very hygienic! Unlike other animals, pigs refuse to excrete anywhere near their young or feeding areas. They are also unable to sweat, which is why they wallow in the mud to cool down. Think about that next time when someone says “I’m sweating like a pig.” A lot of the times when humans compare themselves to a pig, it’s used in a negative manner. For example, “You’re as lazy as a pig!” This however, is yet again far from the truth. Pigs are super energetic and love to play! They can even run a 7 minute mile! That’s just as fast, if not faster as the average student! Crazy, right?
As you can see, pigs are very lively and lovable creatures who know how to have an OINKIN’ good time. This means that 2019 is a year to look forward to in Jamaa with pigs headlining the year! I hope you enjoyed these fun facts about these swine-tastic animals!
